She graduated from the Mithibai College of Arts and has a Master’s degree with specialization in Clinical Psychology from the University of Bombay. A consultant for the Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, she has professional training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, is an Associate Fellow & Supervisor of the Albert Ellis Institute, New York City, U.S.A. and is a recognized and accredited practitioner.

Since 1992, Varkha has been a consulting psychologist and psychotherapist. She has conducted several motivation, empowerment and self-growth training programs and has served as a peak performance consultant. The scope of her work is reflected in the variety of individuals she has assisted, besides numerous professional, business, social and industrial organizations. Quoted in Time (Asia) magazine for the lead story on Medicating Young Mind’s, she contributes regularly to publications like Bombay Times, Femina, The Indian Express, and has also been associated with the MTV show – Loveline.
